Question: What do you think about spirits, Sayadaw? I feel there are spirits haunting me. I can’t keep concentration and see the people whom I know while meditating. Is that creation of my mind or something real?

“All living beings and non – living beings are Created Truth. Coronavirus which can survive inside the body of living beings is also a Created Truth. Cause and effect or ever-new-impermanent Nature is the Original Truth. The mind we understand is also a created Truth. The mind we don’t understand just ever new impermanent nature is Original Truth. Coronavirus doesn’t infect every living being but it is spreading in minds to minds of many people. The real coronavirus hasn’t traveled to many people but news and knowledge about the virus have traveled to many people’s minds around the world. Real spirits are the same as coronavirus. Spirits which are making problems to you or human beings are not many but news and knowledge of spirits or ghosts are making trouble in many people’s minds. Therefore, real spirits or ghosts are not much trouble; news and knowledge of spirits or ghosts are more trouble than real ones.”

Question: Hello Master. As a beginner, what should we do if feeling pain with this body during meditation? Should we change our posture or keep sitting still? Thank you a lot.

“We are human beings with intelligence that’s why we should learn all the time, not satisfy our present conditions. We should be open-minded as well as open our eyes. We should not stop learning. We should not grasp the idea that we are complete or perfect. The more we learn in the right way, the more we understand we know nothing, we’re nothing. If we learn in the wrong way, we will misunderstand that we know everything or we are everything. During meditation, can not endure the pain is nature. If we grasp the pain and don’t try to endure, we will never grow. Doing what we understand and what we can do is our tradition. By doing like this, we will never grow or develop. We need to go beyond our limits. That’s mean trying to do what we cannot do, trying to endure what we cannot, trying to know what we don’t. We should aim high and work hard, more than we can do. We should never stop trying hard until we are sick or die. Nothing is forever. There is an aim in every action. Let it takes the aim of our practice by itself, no need to stop deliberately. This is the rule of success. ”

Question: Dear Sayadaw, we are meditating according to the Mayahana tradition of meditation. We are very interested in your teachings although this is the first time we know about you. Could you tell us what we should do next to learn about your method? Thank you!

“Dhamma or doing good deeds is the most important of all. Most people in society are not doing that that’s why they are not getting good results; they are facing many problems of education, jobs for their earnings, and healthcare; also with meditation or doing good deeds. You guys are young, healthy, and intelligent; you have chances to help people in need. Besides, most monks, nuns, and meditators also have difficulties concerning food, accommodations, jobs, and meditation. That is what we are trying to solve. If we are busy with good deeds for the people in need, we are sure to detach from ourselves and our desires. Thabarwa center is for all people in need, that’s why we are always busy solving the most needed in society. In this way, we are sure to be busy all the time thus we don’t have time to think of ourselves and our desires. This is doing good deeds not with any discipline or tradition; this is doing good deeds for the people who are in need of help at the present moment. There are so many people in need but we need to help one by one. “
