Question: Namo budhaya! I am one of these monks who has ordained since we were teenagers. We are really into Dhamma but this is also difficult for us to stop our sexual desires. Is there any way to help us to continue Dhamma life and overcome those desires?

“We should understand loving someone or something is the nature of living beings. We cannot stop the nature but we should not attach on that nature, loving mind, something or someone. Grasping use is wrong, using with attachment is wrong. We can love someone or something but we should not attach on the loving mind, we should not attach on something or someone. Not to reject, we should accept loving something or someone but not to attach we should do all kinds of good deeds without limit. It will be helpful for us to detach from something or someone and loving mind. The more we do good deeds, the more we love good deeds. Buddha Dhamma and Sangha are reliable for sure. Something or someone are not reliable. Something or someone are changing all the times. Instead of loving something or someone, we should try to love Buddha, Dhamma and Sangha that is safe and no side effect. Without doing good deeds we cannot love Dhamma or doing good deeds for sure. What we are doing here and there continuously is helpful to detach from our loving mind than ourselves. Sexual conduct is concerned even with animals. For animals, they cannot control their desires and actions of sexual conduct. But we are human beings, we are intelligent that’s why we should try not to behave like animals. We must be able to do what is good, not to do what is bad, to purify the mind. We should not keep the desire of the animals in our mind, if we behave like animals, we are sure to be animal in the future. Only the noble Buddha and Sangha can control their evil mind and action. Animals are not intelligent that’s why they are killing, stealing and doing sexual conduct freely. Because of doing like this, they are not intelligent, because they lack intelligence they cannot understand what is good/bad or right/wrong. Most of animals understand only to eat, to sleep and to do sexual conduct, if we are doing the same like animals, we will not be different from the animal. Therefore we should keep precepts seriously. Without the help of Budhha, Dhamma and Sangha it is really difficult not to do bad, to do good and to purify the mind. Besides, we are wearing ropes, we are ordained as Samanera or monks. We are not lay people, that’s why we should not behave like normal lay people. This is really important. We are worshiped or paid homage by lay people because of doing good deeds concerned with Dhamma or keeping sila or keep precepts and keep our mind to be stable and pure. Even if we are difficult to do good deeds, we should not give up we should keep on doing good deeds. Teaching about the truth like this is difficult for me and for all but I am able to do good deeds all the time in any condition with anyone. That’s right to do, that’s why we should continue to practise, we should support each other. If I am not doing good deeds including meditation as a meditator, I am sure not to control my loving mind and desire or sexual conduct, I am sure to get married. But because of relying on doing good deeds continuously like this, I am able to control the loving mind, the desire of sexual conduct and getting married. This is very useful, this power is really useful not only for me, but also for the other who concerning with us. I have been helping the old and young people to be able to control their evil mind and actions. You should also try to get the power of control loving mind and desires of sexual conduct. That problem concerns with most of people in society, both young and old. We should try to practise not only for us but also for all. If you continue doing good deeds like this together with us, you are sure to solve the problem by your own experiences.”
