” 28th Feb 2020. The last day of meditation retreat in TNC Singapore. It has been one week so far. Due to Coronavirus, most ceremonies and pre-scheduled events have been canceled in Singapore. The virus has been attacking only a few people in Singapore but suspending many activities, including religious or business. There are many losses caused by the virus. For Thabarwa Center, we have planned for this retreat in advance, but we emphasize doing good deeds every present moment that’s why we don’t need to stop it. Depending on the present moment, condition, time, place, people; we can continue doing good deeds until the end day together. At 9 am, most of us are going back to Myanmar. Because of doing good deeds every present moment naturally, we can successfully continue doing good deeds together against the virus here in Singapore also, same as in Malaysia.

If we are doing bad deeds or make mistakes, we are sure to get into trouble here in Singapore. Because of doing good deeds every present moment, we can do the more difficult good deeds together here in Singapore. Consequently, we can visit other monasteries, temples in Singapore; moreover, we can find suitable places for the future Thabarwa center. We are able to give 8,500 USD for the nursing home in Vietnam for its payment. For the Singaporian Tibetan monk’s operation in Yishun Community Hospital we can take that payment for only 76 SGD instead of over 7000 SGD. The problem has been solved easily by the donation of a Singaporean yogi. If we rely on Buddha, Dhamma, and Shanga by doing good deeds continuously like this, most difficulties like this will be solved easily more than our expectations. According to the messages about the Tibetan monk, I understand that we need 12,000 SGD but when I met him he said 7,700 SGD. When we asked for the reception in the hospital, the actual fee was 76 SGD. That’s not strange for me; I meet all kinds of problems continuously by relying on Buddha, Dhamma, and Shanga.

This is the same as opening a meditation center in Singapore. If we don’t do that, it seems really difficult. If we dare to do that, it becomes easier. That’s why we will do that by renting a shophouse. Also we will be able to get an allowance from the government to open a meditation center here. This is the 2nd year permission from the Government to legally open a meditation center. Because the business in Singapore is not good, the rent for the new shophouse charges 6,000 SGD for the ground floor that seems expensive. Then we went there to see the environment; that was great. We are able to use a large environmental area, also the ground of 1,280 square feet. It’s valuable to rent or buy. We already found a suitable place for Thabarwa center, now we just need to do good deeds more and more to turn in ready use it as a Thabarwa center. Thabarwa center has been operated for good deeds without limit for 12 years, not for business; we don’t need to think about business scenarios here. Opening more and more Thabarwa centers in Singapore will be a good opportunity for students and businessmen from Singapore also. Doing good deeds in Singapore will well protect from coronavirus also.

Doing good deeds with the method of doing-only is complete. Doing business, education, politics, and healthcare are not complete. If you are able to do good deeds continuously, you will need nothing to do more. If you are studying or working for your earning, or taking medical treatment; you will need to do more good deeds also. In society, some people may volunteer but some may not, some people keep precepts but some don’t, some people practice mindfulness and detachment but most don’t for sure. This is the same in Thabarwa center, some do good deeds but some don’t. The difference is we are together in Thabarwa center no matter if we volunteer or not; keep precepts or not; practice meditation or not while we are not together in our society. That’s why in Thabarwa center all people can get benefits from doing good deeds. That’s why continuously doing good deeds like this is necessary here although we will head back Myanmar soon.”
