Sharing: Dear Sayadaw! While practicing, I’ve got bitten by a mosquito. It makes me think about how much patience we need to have in daily life, in normal activities. And how to be inspired by the noble people to be more and more patient. Thank you a lot Sayadaw!

Pain, itching, diseases, stress, disappointment, greed, anger, worry, fear… are inner dangerous. All are needed to be mindful, to know the Truth of impermanent Nature in order to detach. Not to reject, we need to be mindful of the sufferings caused by these objects. To be able to detach, we need to know the Impermanent Nature. Impermanent Nature is the same with everyone, everything. As we are different from each other, there will be different diseases, different sufferings, but the same Ever-new-impermanent Nature.

If we see from the side of the Nature Truth. there is only the same Ever-new-impermanent Nature. If we can find out the Truth by our own experience, we can detach. In my own experience, I used to meditate in the meditation center and at home, not in the forest, that’s why not many problems which the mosquitos, but many problems with ants. In a meditation practice, my leg was bitten by many ants. But I continue the practice when I can endure the suffering. If I’ve stopped the practice because of their biting, I might now be able to detach. If I can not detach, that problem will continue, the ants will be the problems to me all the time. because of mindfulness on the serious suffering in order to detach successfully, the ants are not my enemies anymore. Sometimes I get bitten by them but not much serious as before. For the mosquitos, I don’t have a chance to endure and detach from them so I am still suffering with them until now. To solve the problem, you need to endure, the more you endure, the more you can detach. If you are able to endure the mosquitos disturbance enough, you will be no longer enemies with them and be free from their disturbance.

When we are doing good deeds by keeping precepts and the stable and pure mind; we should continue the practice. Regardless of time, place, person, and condition, in this way, we are sure to fulfill all the Parami of practice enough. By reading the life of future Buddhas and famous meditation master, you can get encouragement a lot from them. It will be helpful.
