“The real problem is not knowing the Middle way. Which is doing or not doing only; experiencing or not experiencing only; knowing or not knowing only; using or not using only. This middle way method is the most important of all. If we can’t follow the Middle way, we will follow only this way or that way. If we follow this way, we will reject the other ways. If we are taking care only of ourselves, we will reject taking care of the others. If we are taking care of the others, we will reject taking of ourselves. There will be imbalance, rejecting or attaching mistake. That mistake will create problems, difficulties, losts, failures in our life. If we can not follow the middle way, whatever we do, we will do with wrong view and attachment.
No I, no you, not mine, not yours, not something, not someone, no living being, no non-living being are truth. If we are able to see from the side of impermanent nature and permanent nature. But If we can’t understand the middle way, we will accept this theory by rejecting law and regulation of the society. If we are grasping law and regulation of the society, we will reject the truth of seeing from the side of impermanent nature. Only when we are able to be using only with right view and only when we are able to use with mindfulness and detachment by knowing our present condition of the mind. Whether there is like or dislike or absence of mindfulness. Misusing is the real the problem. Both the law of impermanent nature and the law of society are not to reject and attach. To being used only. If we are able to use both in the right way, we can get enlightenment. Besides we can get success in the society also.
In order to solve this problem of misusing, I had to establish new the Thabarwa centers all the time. I am responsible for all the Thabarwa centers. That’s why I can do many right things freely. I can’t have this chance in other organizations. This kind of correcting the mistakes together at the mediation center is really effective. That’s why more and more people are volunteering in the Thabarwa center, donating to the center, practicing meditation by keeping precepts. The Thabarwa center emphasize represent everyone and all organizations. Thabarwa center try to solve all the problems, not only our own. That’s why the Thabarwa Center can follow the Middle way in both doing all kinds of good deeds, including social welfare. If Thabarwa center can do both kind of good deeds in the right way of doing only, the other people and other organizations will not be difficult to do. In this way, more and more people will be easy to get success both in doing good deeds to get enlightenment and social activities. When we are practicing the Middle way, if we can get right way successfuly. We can share the other ones to get right way successfuly. If we can get success of group or organizations, we can share the other groups or organizations. We can help the other groups or organizations to get success. If we can get success countrywide, we can help the other countries, to get success of countrywide. If more and more country can get success. In the country, we are sure to get success worldwide. In this way doing good deeds for both, worldly affairs and enlightenment will be easy. More and more people can get good results for sure.
That’s why we have to try hard in doing good deeds. If we can not accept the truth of impermanent nature which is no I, no you, not mine, not yours. We can’t reduce our anger, greed, and delusion. Our mind will never be healthy. Accepting the truth of impermanent nature is for the benefit of health and wealth of the mind. If the mind is stable, it is wealthy, It’s complete. It needs nothing to do. Because of being instability of the mind, we are busy. We obey to fulfill the “I”. We are busy to obey to fulfill the needs of the mind. If the mind is unstable, we will be endless desires. We will also be busy endlessly. If we are thinking responsibly for what we do in the society, for the healthy and wealthy life. It is concerned with the material. If we reject thinking responsibly for the human being, we can not be healthy and wealthy. If we reject to accept the truth of no I, no you, not mine, not yours, our mind will never be healthy and wealthy. Both are necessary in its own way. Therefore, we should try to use both theory in the right way of doing only.
Traditionally, we use only one speaker and one line in Dhamma Hall. But in some monastery, teaching not only for the meditator in dhamma hall, but also for the outside. Especialy, in Myanmar, when there is the dhamma talk in the monastery, we use loud speakers for the whole village. By doing like this, people from far away can hear clearly but audiences in Dhamma can not hear very well. If we emphasize far the way, there will be weakness for nearby. If we emphasize nearby, there will be weakness for far away.
Beside, when we are using Livestream on Facebook for the audiences from other countries, one speaker is not enough. It will be enough for the people in the Dhamma hall, but for Livestream the sound will not be good enough. We have to use two speaker, two live, two microphone together.
This is teamwork together for the meditators nere and far away. It will make us busier but more effective. By doing so, we can accumulate more merits or good deeds. Here in this retreat, traditionally we use two languages Vietnamese and English. It is good for the vietnamese yogis but for the Burmese and Thai who can’t understand Vietnamese, and English. They have difficulty. By translateing into 4 languages: Thai, Vietnamese, Burmese, English. It became teamworks. It make us more busy, but it is much more effective. Not only vietnamese yogis, but also Thai, Burmese yogis also have chance to understand the middle way which is doing only. If more and more people are following the Middle way, It will be more easy to get enlightenment. It is this method which we emphasize in, especially in the Thabarwa center. In most of activities, we try to do together with anyone and anywhere and any condition. The benefits or results is amazing. “
